Briggs Contracting was started by Chaz Briggs in 2008 as an all-season property management hardscape & landscaping company. The company grew quickly and Chaz learned the benefits of hiring contractors to assist on larger landscaping construction jobs.
Chaz strived to sharpen his subcontracting skills when he was given the opportunity to work at an upscale home construction company in Houston, Texas where he felt he could benefit from the city’s solid economy and infrastructure. Shortly after moving, Hurricane Harvey hit the city causing mass destruction. Chaz and his small construction company stayed the course and hit the ground running. Overcoming the “out of stater” diversity, they still managed to establish great clients and relationships with the many high-end subcontractors of the area. Briggs Contracting excelled at renovations such as kitchen remodels, bathroom remodels, patio installations, and in one circumstance a frame-to-finish home destroyed by the hurricane!
Although Houston added to his skill set, Chaz decided it was time to bring his experience, knowledge, and business back home to Portland, Maine. Briggs Contracting specializes in general contracting of home renovations with a focus on the demolition aspect.
